Xbox 360 chip help????

Hi

i am thinking of getting a chip for my 360 however i have heard that it shortans the life of the console. can anyone out there tell me how long roughly it shortens it by and how long will i roughly have 2 play on it whilst chip is installed will i have befor it breaks.

( so basicly im asking how long on averadge time will my 360 last after chip is installed befor it breaks.?)

well i cant be to passific but iff you get a chipp for your xbox 360 and go on live you have a risk off getting banned and yes it does shorten the memory so after a year your chipp will be useless
