Xbox 360 component (HD) cables stopped working; what's wrong?

SD video still works (the yellow, single cord); I tried buying new component cables (Monster brand) but had the same problem even with those; it seems like neither of the cords will go in all the way. The screen looks mostly blue, with a zigzag pattern that moves around onscreen.

sounds like the cable is dead

The problem is with the connections or the cord as they are not compatible with the Xbox and try a different brand like Ekle or RCA though Monster is no doubt is a good brand and just check weather you are getting the original one or not.
