HEEEEELP,

I currently have my xbox 360 connected to my Vista ultimate media centre pc via a wired belkin router. The Media centre extender is working fine and i can access all my media content no problems. I need help to allow my xbox 360 to connect to pc to show music, videos and pictures without media centre. My media player 11 has the sharing enabled and it shows my xbox and all sharing is allowed on my network. I have turned off and allowed my firewall to work with it too. I have even tested third party software like TVersity and still no show on the xbox

  1. Not sure about why Vista isn't playing well with your 360, but TVersity needs a port to be forwarded on your router, typically you need to forward port 41952 as both TCP and UDP.

    Not all versions of Vista will support the Xbox connection, only     * Windows Vista Basic

    * Windows Vista Home Premium

    * Windows Vista Ultimate

    will do it, since there are like seven versions of Vista it's possible you might have one that doesn't support this function.

    For the Media Center to function you should open the following ports -

    Port   Name                                  Protocol

    2869 UPnP Framework                TCP

    1900 UPnP Framework                UDP

    10284 Windows Media Connect UDP

    10283 Windows Media Connect UDP

    10282 Windows Media Connect UDP

    10281 Windows Media Connect UDP

    10280 Windows Media Connect UDP

    10243 Windows Media Connect TCP

    Hope this helps.
