Xbox 360 dashboard wont load??

Question

Okay i log into Xbox Live... and then it says i have friends online so forth and so on. I can press the xbox button on my controller and see whos online...and basically it says im online...but when i go to my dashboard...all it has is the xbox 360 object thing with the dots around it like its loading...but it never does. I never had this problem before. What is happening?

Mine does this all the time.  It takes a really long time for the dashboard to load but eventually, if you wait long enough, it will.  Try going back and forth between the dashboards.  Sometimes, that seems to speed things up.
