Xbox 360: hdmi vs component?

I cant tell a difference... I have a 1080p tv, but i cant see a difference between the hdmi cable and the standard hd component cables the system comes with. am i doing something wrong?

  1. you get better sound, and better picture it awesome!


  2. Component cable will carry up to 1080i

    the eye can not truly discern between 1080i and 1080p

    the true difference in hdmi will be in the AUDIO because hdmi can carry a much greater bandwidth and differention of sound than the component cable for audio can...

  3. Component cables can carry 1080p signal BUT most HDTV's will not accept 1080p from components.

    Hdmi can support 1080p and most, if not all full Hd HDTV's can use hdmi.

    You can see the difference between 1080i and 1080p, all you have to do is play a 1080p game in 1080p for a few minutes, take a look at a few objects in the game, some of the characters...

    Then switch to 1080i... you can most definitely see the differences, most people just do not pay attention to that much detail.
