Xbox 360 is not powering up, 2 solid red lights?

My xbox 360 is not powering up. It shows 2 solid red lights when I first plug it in without turning it on. After turning it on it shows those two lights and has no audio or video. I was told by someone that it could be overheating but it's not overheating because the 2 lights are not blinking and I have had my xbox off for 2 days and the same thing still happens. They are the two red lights on the left when the system is laying flat. Does anyone know what those errors mean? Any easy fixes? Any help would be greatly appreciated because this system is out of warranty and I don't want to have to buy another one. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. call Bill

  2. red ring of death????

  3. the two red lights is called the Ring of FIRE or RING of DEATH. do you have a cooler for your X360? if so, the cooler is probably making condensed heat inside your system.you know when heat meets cold air it turns into water. so yur just gonna have to buy a different system.  Oh i forgot, the ring of fire means that you have a virus inyour system or you've been playing it too long.

  4. There is a way to fix this, and it'll sound ridiculous.....

Wrap up your X-Box in towels.  Lol, I know right?  Well, first completely wrap it up in towels, and then turn on the power.  Leave it alone for like 20 minutes.  Your goal is to actually overheat the system.  Once you do this the next time you turn it on, the red ring of death will be all gone!  ....Death by towels?

Yeah, that is a virus and usually you get it if you play online a lot.  Maybe it's Bill's way of letting you know you've been playing a bit too much.  And you don't have to buy a new system so don't worry.

    I hope I helped!
