Planning on getting a 360 today but dont know if the jasper chipsets are out in circulation already. I know i can tell if its a falcon chipset by checking the lot # and if it has 175w. I have been waiting for the jasper i heard this august they will be out but nothing more than that. what should i do? or how can i clarify i am getting a jasper chip.

  1. there in the 60gb xboxs thats all u need to know

if u call microsoft    and ask maby tyhey can tell u

  2. you should wait because there is a price drop on the 7th of September as I read it somewhere and the price drop means that the jasper is going to be available

still no one knows how to tell if its a jasper but I'm sure the watts will be less as when the falcon came the power adapter was 203w and it went down to 175w so expect to see it down again to maybe 150 or 145w

Of course I'm just assuming that but because the jasper was announced long time ago and in many articles the availability date was in August 2008 and now the price drop is going to be in September 2008 so you should wait because you will save money and might get the jasper witch is better for your money than falcon

  3. What xbox360 said. The Jasper will be available with the price cut in September. However, only the new 60GB units will be Jasper revisions. The 20GB consoles are still Falcon (which still do overheat and give RRoDs) and in my opinion they will try to get as many 20GB Falcons out of the door before they make a Jasper revision for this model (hence the price cut on the 20GB).

Pay an extra and get a more reliable, capacious 360. With Netflix movie rentals coming soon and mandatory game installs, you'll need that extra space.
