Xbox 360 only shows green grey and purple

Question

My friend and I share this xbox but he uses the vga cables and I use the component. I hooked it up to my tv and it has a green tint. It works fine using the regular AV and VGA but using the high def cables it has that color. Its not my cables because my other xbox works just fine with it. Any suggestions?

If you have a LCD or flat screen, the hook-ups are label, like where the AV goes, HMDI goes, and so on. however, old tv aren't compatible to HD cables

idk, sometimes if you have certain electronics too close to the tv it will mess with the screen and turn it purple and green, thats the only thing i can think of
