Xbox 360 problem?

whenever i try to sign in it says account not valid on xbox live,it wont even let me sign in anymore..can someone please help me.

i dont have one but my friend does and he needs to sometimes get a code off the internet and punch it in to get x box live

well maybe your xbox live account is out of date try getting a new subscription!!
