Does anyone know if I am able to connect my son's xbox 360 to the wireless network with Mac authentication enabled? We were having problems connecting to the internet with the encrption key so my internet service provider took that off and set up the Mac authentication thingy and set it up so that only certain authorized computers can connect to my network. So my question is does anyone know how I can set this xbox 360 up to be able to connect. Thank you in advanced.

  1. You probably just have to set your wireless router to accept the MAC address of your XBox.  Then when you search for wireless networks with the XBox, the router will allow it to connect.  Unless they turned off SSID broadcast, then you would have to save the name of the network in the wireless settings on the XBox or it won't even see the network.

  2. I don't have an X-Box, so I can't be sure, but you might be looking for "hardware address" in the X-Box.  (That's what Windows, and some network card manufacturers, call it too.)  Just 2 names for the same thing.

You'll have to add that address to the list in the router.  How you do it depends on the router.  If you post the make and model number, someone can probably give you exact instructions.  Or you can have your provider talk you through it.
