  1. I heard Microsoft was clearing them out for $49.99, but I'm not sure if there are any left.

    But I'm sure that with the switch to Blu-ray, a quick eBay or craigslist search would give you used Xbox HD-DVD players in good condition for a similar price.  And a lot of those listings include used movies, since the seller is getting rid of the player.
