Question:

Xbox Live Connectivity Issue?

Alright, you guys helped me out with my PSN problem so hopefully this'll follow through.

I'm visiting my mom for the summer, and wanted to play some Xbox Live. I hadn't known she had internet, so I left my wireless adapter at home. She uses wireless. Now this is what I was wondering. Her wireless... thingy ma-bobber is connected to the computer via USB, and then she has to go manually connect it to the internet with a program that came with it. I have a router, two cords (one's a yellow ethernet, another's a long white cord with about the same size head as the ethernet), is there any way I can play Xbox Live?

Also, just to tell you guys about the tryouts I've done, and this is the closet I've ever got it to do anything. When I test the connection on Xbox, it says Network Adapter: Wired, IP Address: Confirmed, and then the DNS test fails. Would manually putting in a DNS help, and can you even do that? BTW, these results happened when I had the yellow ethernet plugged into the back of my Xbox and the router.

Thanks for any help guys.

  3. you could always look at Xbox.com, same sort of thing happend to me. but i found that you can use the computer to get the xbox live, all you have to do is, connect your xbox to computer via ethernet, open control panel, go to network connections, and right click Local Area Network connection, go to properties and select share network, and do the same with the wireless.

    Hope i helped!
