Question:

Xbox Live Ping and Server?

I live in Australia and have relatively fast internet (7000k download, 750k upload and 25 ping), however when I play Xbox Live the bar is usually red. Occasionally I get a green bar, but this is rare. I thought it could be that when I play I am probably connecting to an American Server, therefore my ping is increased. Is this what is happening, and if so how do I fix it? If not what could be the problem.

Thanks

  1. If you're talking about Call of Duty 4, that means your playing people overseas from where you live, that's why you stick with a red bar. To solve this problem, where you put your clan tag, put in AUS, that makes you vs other people from Australia and you always stick with 4 green bars.

  2. I play xbox live in Australia and I commonly get this problem too. It's just the fact that there are many more UK/US servers than Australian......and microsoft are too lazy to invent a better system for connecting to games.

Unfortunately this only thing that can help is this. Whenever you get into a game where you have a full green ping (Aussie Hosted Game) add everyone else in that game that is australian to your preffered players. This gives you more chance of joining a game that they are in hence a better ping. Hope this helps!
