Xbox Live Wireless Adapter??

Question

ok i have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router Model No: WRT54G2, i plugged in all the wires correctly but my adapter isnt picking up a signal from it and the light on the adapter is red... how can i make the router give off a signal?

make sure you are in range of the router and you should figure out the security that is put on your router. good luck. also, i strongly suggest switching to cat 5 wiring because it is 4 times faster and almost a guarantee that you cant lag. if you can get the wire to run to your xbox it is definitely worth it.

OK, so I have the WRT54G router and the wireless network adapter for my setup. I have a green light lit on the back of the network adapter and the cable attached to the USB port on the back of the 360. On your router you should have a light that says "WLAN" below and also "WIRELESS G" above. This should be lit. What you might have to do is access the router through your browser and setup the Wireless signal.

Also, I believe you have to setup some information through the 360 menus. Let me take a look at it a little more and find out. It's been a long time since I set it up haha.

EDIT: Okay I checked out my settings in the router and the 360 and here's what I have. I accessed the router setup screen via 192.168.1.1 through IE and clicked on the "Wireless" link. My selections in there are Mixed for wireless network mode, wireless SSID broadcast is set to ENABLED and my channel is 6-2.437GHz. I'm not sure if these options are going to be what lets your 360 detect the router but I believe they will. If it still isn't working shoot me an email and I'll tell you more about how mine is setup.
