Xbox live MTU error?

I am living in a college dorm and my xbox live can not connect because of the MTU fails. I have a decedent understanding that they limit the packets being sent out to free connection and bandwidth for the entire dorm so my xbox can't lag others computers but is there any way i could fix this.

Also I was wondering if there was a way to see what is the maximum number of packets i can send out.

you would have to access the college's network configuration, (impossible unless ur a hacker), then change the MTU settings to at least 1364 which is a minimum requirement for Xbox LIVE.

It's the connection at your college. A lot of colleges have there Internet set up to where its not very xbox friendly. You would need to go ask the person in charge of the Internet and whatnot at your college to see if there is anything you can do.
