Xbox upscaling DVD with a HD component cable?

I have searched others questions and answers , but still cant get my head round this.

I have an Xbox Pro connected to a 1080i HD TV with the AV component cable from the box, games look great but DVDs play at 480 ( or something) I cant find any option to 'enable' Upscaling.

Can someone help?

Let me educate you. DVD it has 9GB & supports 480P. I have 1080P 50"HDTV & when I watch DVD movies on my 360, it will downscale to 480P because it is NOT HD disk. Only if you have Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on player & HD-DVD movies, you will get HD picture & sound. Note that HD-DVD is dead. If you want HD picture & HD sound, buy the PS3 or a Blu-ray player.
