I own a new fourstroke 49cc Xingyue XY50QT it idles fine and drives fine but when I accelerate it kinda spudders till about 15mph then takes off up to 40mph (its top speed). How can I stop it from sputtering at first during acceleration?

  1. Just bought one of these and fooled around with it until I fixed this exact problem.  It's the air flow.  Try running it with the air filter cap removed but leave the sponge in.  It should take right off.  Ultimately, I removed the tube that comes off the air filter cap, the one with the screen on the end, and I removed a smaller piece that was inside the cap, where the other tube connects to.  I ran it all over town today without a single problem or sputter.  Even got it going to just over 40 on a flat stretch.  It's hard to believe that this kind of fun is legal. :)
