hmm...Well I can't say I know much but if I had to guess I would say that when you consider the "jars" as archaeological objects you are looking for it's value in history and how the objects are tied to a culture and its implications for the society of that time. When you look at its artistic value, you consider the subjective value of the piece as concerned with the artist and the individual.
