Xsquared to swing back in form for the Leopardstown.Com Handicap
The €5,520 prize money of the Leopardstown.Com Handicap has attracted a line-up of twenty-two runners who are three-year and above. They are ready to take up the challenge over a mile and a furlong on Thursday, 9th August at Leopardstown. The
entries for the race have rolled from different backgrounds and rankings.
One of the remarkably improved candidates for the race is the four-year-old bay gelding, Xsquared. He has raced seven times during the new season, and has progressed drastically in the last three starts of the season.
The bay gelding ended sixth in the Kilkenny Handicap (Division I) on 12th April, 2012 at Gowran Park over a mile. The race was won by, Naked Cowboy.
For the next three races, he ended thirteenth, ninth and seventh. He gathered these rankings through a handicap, a maiden hurdle and then again a handicap.
Exceed And Excel’s bay gelding did not only win the seasonal debut on 6th June rather it was the first time throughout his career that the four-year-old won a race.
The Irish bay gelding won the Ratoath Handicap (Division II) on 6th June, 2012 at Fairyhouse over a mile and two furlongs. Paired up with jockey, Wayne Lordan, the bay gelding landed the race by the margin of six lengths.
Finishing the closest to the winner was, Massabini, and following in the tracks was, Akram.
The Ms. Joanna Morgan trained did not take very long to lose the composure as the next two races found him scoring second. However, it cannot be denied that the four-year-old did set and maintain certain bench marks after winning the debut race.
On 16th July, 2012 the bay gelding out of, Jemalina, finished next to the best in the Follow Dundalk On Twitter Handicap (Division I) at Dundalk over a mile and 2 ½ furlongs. The race was won by the favourite entry, Cebuano.
The Adders Partnership owned qualified as the runner-up in the “Minutes” Apprentice Handicap on 26th July, 2012 at Leopardstown over a mile and two furlongs.
First one through the wire was, Waltzing Cat.
He will get coupled with jockey, Wayne Lordan for the race, and the duo has drawn the eighteenth stall to race from.
