Xu Chen–Ma Jin beat Cheng Liu–Yixin Bao to ease into semi-final stage at Li Ning China Open 2012
China’s top shuttlers Xu Chen and Ma Jin proved their supremacy in the arena and eased into Mixed Doubles semi-final after toppling their team team-mates Cheng Liu and Yixin Bao in quarter-final battle at Li Ning China Open 2012 at Shanghai, on Friday, November
16.
The World Number One Xu and Ma, who are the top seeds in main draw of the championship, showed a staggering performance in the arena and they did not face any considerable hurdle in beating their un-seeded rivals in just 38 minutes.
Xu and Ma were on a different level on court as they controlled their nerves all the way and remained successful in getting rid of their talented country-mates in straight sets with a reasonable total on the board.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Cheng and Yixin tried their best to put up strong show but they failed to create pressure on their top seeded compatriots and eventually crashed out with a respectable deficit.
It was a wonderful fight in the starting rallies of this Mixed Doubles contest but Xu and Ma showed a wonderful display of their incredible skills and took over the charge of the game.
The amazing speed Xu and Ma helped them to take over the control of rallies without any considerable trouble and they set up a wonderful gap on the score board until the one-minute break.
In the concluding half, the higher ranked Xu and Ma did not slow down their speed at any stage and remained successful in winning the opening game with a six-point margin of 21-15.
In the following set, the lower ranked Cheng and Yixin also showed their brilliance by playing attacking and positive badminton and they stayed close to their challengers until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Xu and Ma continued playing in the most positive fashion and they managed to control the pace in the ending points and took the set with a 21-19 score on the board.
The top seeded Xu and Ma won this quarter-final clash in a dominating manner with a reasonable margin of 21-15 and 21-19.
