Xuan Deng beats Aya Ohori in qualifying round of 2012 Macau Open Badminton GP Gold
China’s talented campaigner Xuan Deng played impeccable badminton and ensured her presence in the second stage of qualifying round in Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold on November 27, 2012.
The Women’s Singles expert outshined Aya Ohori of Japan in the opening match which lasted for 31 minutes.
Though, this tussle concluded in just two games but still both contenders displayed commendable show of skills while piling up the final figures of 22-20 and 21-7.
In first set of the match, Xuan Deng took some time to read her rival’s game but she established a strong grip by adding a couple of consecutive points in her total.
Meanwhile, Aya Ohori kept on moving forward at steady pace and made a notable difference before the mid-game break.
The Japanese shuttler kick-started her campaign with a flurry of power packed strokes which fetched some valuable points.
She started the beating after 4-4 and maintained that rhythm to pile up a respectable figure of 11 before the interval.
However, she could not go with the same flow in ending stages of the game and provided her competitor a counter-attack opportunity.
The Chinese player did not squander this golden chance and bounced back into the contest. She bagged five points in a row and placed a significant total of 14-13.
In third quarter of the set, Xuan Deng looked in prime touch as she completely outclassed her challenger tactically and technically. She did not drop her pace and cruised to victory with a convincing margin of 22-20.
The second of match turned into a one-sided affair as Aya Ohori hardly put any resistance and crashed out of this Grand prix Gold event.
On the other hand, Xuan Deng played with great precision and alarmed all the contestants with a splendid win.
She mounted pressure by registering an indomitable figure of 9-3 in no time and then magnified the impact by raising her total to 15-4.
She did not lose focus at any stage of the game and raised hands as victor after putting 21-7 score on the board.
Now she is scheduled to meet Evgeniya Kosetskaya in second stage of the qualifying round and win will take her into the main round.
