Xue Song advances into Men’s Singles third round of the Badminton Asia Youth U-19 Championships
China’s Xue Song advanced into the Men’s Singles third round after beating Japan’s Watanabe Dai of Japan, in the second round of the 2011 Badminton Asia Youth U-19 Championships, at Lucknow, India, on Wednesday, July 6.
Song continued his winning run as he is playing tremendous badminton at the moment. He worked extra hard for 52 minutes to chuck out the Japanese in a thrilling fight, which took three sets of quality badminton from both players.
The young Chinese started the first set in a shaky manner, as he was struggling hard to get control of the rallies. He was facing problems while hitting the bird from the right corner of the rear court area. However, he managed to remain tied with his opponent
until the score reached at 15-15.
At this concluding stage of the opening set, the crowd went crazy as the score reached at the breathtaking score of 21-21. At this stage, the Chinese lost his focus and made an error which cost him the first game by a tight difference of 21-23, in 23 minutes.
The firing Chinese bounced back in the second game in striking fashion, as he showed no mercy to Watanabe throughout the entire game. The Japanese was struggling even to return the bird as the Chinese was hitting the bird extremely hard from all areas of
the court. Song won the second set with a wonderful difference of 21-12, in just 15 minutes.
The final set was also the same as the previous set, where the Chinese continued his impressive run in the match. He proved that he belongs to a higher class of the game, as he again rushed towards the destination and finished the final game with a big margin
of 21-12, by consuming just 14 minutes in the court.
Song won this entertaining three-set match by playing badminton of the highest class. The final score of this superb fight was 21-23, 21-12 and 21-12, in a court time for 52 minutes.
