The line of an euation with a as lope of 2/3 goes through the point (3,5). What is the y coordinate of the pont the line that goes thru when x=6?

  1. the slop is the tan of the angle = 2/3

    that slop is the same slop from the point (3.5) to the point (6.Y)

    x axis deference is 6-3 =3

    Y axis is      equal to 5 + y

    then slop 2/3 = y/3

    y = 2

    Y coordinate is y+5 =2+5 = 7


  2. Use the equation: y = Mx + b

    M (slope) = 2/3

    We can put that in, so: y = 2/3x + b

    When x = 3, y = 5, as shown by your point (3,5)

    5 = (2/3)(3) + b

    Solving for b:

    5 = 2 + b

    b = 3

    Therefore the equation is:

    y = 2/3x + 3

    When x = 6

    y = (2/3)(6) + 3

    y = 4 + 3

    y = 7
