Y Pb Pr connections not working correctly

Question

Lately my TV has been turning itself off and has to be unplugged to get it to come back on. 2 nights ago this happened and when I turned it back on and switched the TV to watch a DVD the DVD would only display in black and white and the picture was bad. I thought it was my DVD player/sound system because it was old so I replaced it yesterday and I still have the same problem. I tried using both Y Pb Pr connections with no success.
