  1. Yes, I remember when Cricket worked at a home for unwed mothers, that is where she met her good friend Nina Webster.  Sally was the owner of the house, but she was not known as Sally then.  She became Sally when she went to Bold and the Beautiful.  I wonder will they ever  bring Nina and the kids back into the Young and the Restless.

  2. With the return of Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) to The Young and the Restless, and possibly his ex-wife, Christine Williams (aka Cricket, Lauralee Bell), Soaps.com got thinking back to the early years of Cricket's time on the show. Back when she befriended a girl named Nina Webster (Tricia Cast)…

Cricket debuted on Y&R in 1983 as a teen model for Jabot Cosmetics. It wasn't long before the pretty blond befriended a down on her luck, pregnant teen named Nina Webster. Nina had grown up poor in Detroit with her mother, Flo (Sharon Farrell), who was once a prostitute. When Nina found herself pregnant, she ran away to Genoa City and wound up in a home for unwed moms run by one Rose DeVille (Darlene Conley). Rose secretly ran a black market baby ring and convinced Nina to give her baby up for adoption after birth. Nina changed her mind, however, apparently leaving Rose no other alternative than to kidnap the newborn! Cricket and Nina worked together to find the infant, but were unsuccessful.

Next, Cricket gave Nina a place to stay and plenty of advice! Nina repaid the favor by setting her sights on Cricket's fiancé, Phillip Chancellor III. In spite of the help Cricket and Danny Romalotti had lavished on Nina, she set out to get Phillip drunk and sleep with him. Naturally, she ended up pregnant! Nina wasn't the preferred carrier of a Chancellor heir, certainly not in the eyes of Phillip's mother, Jill (Jess Walton), or of Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), who tried to buy Nina off. As Y&R fans know, Nina gave birth to a beautiful son, and she and Phillip got married. Phillip later died in an alcohol-related car crash, and Nina, of course, went through the David Kimble and then Ryan McNeil years.

Cricket & Nina (CBS)Cricket faced some challenges of her own after losing Phillip to Nina. She was date raped by Derek Stuart (Ken Olandt), sexually harassed by Michael Baldwin, and then became engaged to Scott Grainger (Peter Barton), who turned out to be her half-brother! Cricket, of course, wound up marrying her old friend Danny Romalotti before his out-of-town affair with a certain redhead named Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) tore them apart.

Cricket and Nina, as long-time viewers know, overcame their differences when Nina's son was born. Nina asked the ever-responsible Cricket to care for her child if anything happened to her, and Cricket, in turn, saw that Phillip was becoming attached to Nina and the baby and decided to help Nina win his heart. Ultimately, Cricket and Nina went on to help each other through many crises in the ensuing years.

Soaps.com hopes you have enjoyed this walk through history with these two strong Y&R women. We join the voices on the Y&R message board in saying that we'd love to see Chris and Nina back on the show!

  3. I can't recall Cricket having any children. If I remember correctly, Nina married Ryan, however, she then moved away with her child after he was killed. I always thought that she'd come back but never did. The owner was Rose Daville played by Darlene Conley. When she left YR she joined the cast of  The Bold and the Beautiful as Sally Spectra. She passed away January 2007 from stomach cancer :(  and will be missed by her many fans.

  4. Cricket never had any children on the Y&R

Nina was the girl your talking about.

  5. It's a shame, but Nina and Philip are long gone from the show.
