Y&R-- Why'd Nikki deny recognizing Walter?

Question

I'd like to think I'm a smart cookie, but I can't think of any reason why she'd deny knowing walter in the id picture....if he's dead, the mob's happy, nikki should be happy since he won't come after her...can anyone explain what i missed?

She already feels guilty enough. Walter being the one victor was after would make her feel more at fault.

well how do we that there is not an infromat of his in the bar and if she ididentys him she could b killed but i would dime walter out if i had the chance and yea in the preview u could tell it was walter

I am pretty sure she did it so that they wouldn't be asking her a bunch of questions about how she knew him, who he was, and what kind of connection she had with him. Also, if they do an autopsy and find out he was dead before he washed up on the beach, that Victor might be a suspect in murdering him. Plus, she probably didn't want to explain to Nick how she knew who Walter was and bring up the whole David Chow disaster again.

Stars828 hope I got it right but anywho she hit it right on the nose! Nikki thinks Victor murdered him so she has a good feeling he is not dead which is why she is going to sneak of the jet while Nick is sleeping b/c she wants to stay in Mexico!

I'm going to have to agree with the others, I think she is doing it to protect Victor.

i think she is doing it to protect victor. also she didn't want nick to know or the mexican police , they would be asking too many questions.

she probably didn't want the mexican police to know who she was because then they would know that victor was there to kill walter and then they would that if victor's alive he did it instead of the mob

because if she said she knew him... they'll know that victor murdered him..(if he did)..she knew Victor came after Walter so she doesn't want him to get in trouble...i dunno

I think she is protecting Victor in case he is alive.. If she identified Walter..then the authorities would charge Victor with murder, because she would have to explain that he was the one who killed David and Sabrina.
