  1. Because they like to keep him around for a while.

  2. Yeah they should trade him for andray blatch or someone

  3. he's a good defensive player

  4. there is always a reason for everything

  5. Why would they?  He's one of the most defensively tenacious SF out there, and his scoring tends to be overlooked on a team with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer.  However, he fits the system and defends well.  He's big for his position but can keep up.

  6. Besides his defense, there is also a bigger contract issue here.  Boozer and Okur can both opt out at the end of the season.  If one (or both) walk and they also trade Andre, they are left with nothing but D-will.  I think if both are resigned next summer or if only one opts out, then they will trade him.  Unless of course they get a fantastic offer for him before then, which I don't think will happen.  Kirelenko is an insurance policy for them because they know he can play power forward.  He did after Malone left and before they got Boozer and Okur.  In fact, the year he was an all star he mostly played the 4.

Also, everyone knows he's been on the trading block for a year and a half so I imagine all the offers they are getting are low ball c**p.  I think they made a big mistake not trading him for Marion last summer when they had the chance.  Would have been a good move for all involved, players and teams.
