  1. A more important question is this: Who owns you?

If you are a slave, then the answer is "your master."

But if you are free, then you own yourself.

So tell me, if you are free, why should I have the power to dictate how you handle your own property?

If you own a few thousand acres of land, why should I be able to tell you what you can or cannot do with that land?

These "old growth trees" belong to people who consider themselves free.

Recycling might cause these tree owners to lose money on their investments, but if they choose to sell their trees, this is their right as free people. And they can sell them to the highest bidder.

  2. because recycled paper helps make a multitude of other products that you can buy which did not have to have trees cut down to make them! Even some of the boxes your cake mixes, etc, come in are made out of your recycled paper! Watch for it even on the boxes: it will say made out of recycled paper! Then you can say wow! I was a part of the folks who recycled diligently & saved the earth! (by the way, one Pres Ronald Regan who was all for developers said if you see one tree you have seen them all! It was in regards to them wanting to cut down ALL of our beautiful redwood trees in Calif. Since they are my favoritest tree in the whole world & I love all kinds of trees, I was deeply saddened that there could even be such thoughtless people in the world.

  3. If we recycle, we slow the rate at which forests are destroyed.  It gives us more time to find another alternative.

  4. When you recycle you reduce the need to cut more of those trees.   Sure companies will still cut them for uses in paper, or construction, but many every day paper items come through recycled paper.

school text books come in recycled form, and most newspapers.  Think about how many people get newspapers, if they all are recycled it helps reduce the strain on our old growth forests.
