Y do collingwood claim they are the greatest team in the AFL?

calling all collingwood ferals!...why do you only have 1 premiership in 50 years? being your last one in 1990. compaired to west coast eagles (another powerhouse)

we are 21 years young and have had:

5 grandfinals - 3 won since 1990.

also in our 21 years, 17 times have we made it into the finals

and NO wooden spoon

what has collingwood done in these years?

We know we are not the best, nobody says that Collingwood is the best in the AFL, unlike some other teams supporters *cough cough*

It has been TWO premierships in 50 years, get your facts right.

We have been in plenty of grand finals throughout that time, including 2 in the past 6 years.

Just remember FOUR premierships in a row....

News flash: You have a pretty good chance of winning the Spoon this season, despite your win today. In 111 years in the AFL/VFL we have won 2 wooden spoons....A pretty good record.

Why do you feel the need to target our team?

Oh and by the way... Thanks for winning today, you've kept us equal with the Saints, and given us a better chance for Finals :)

Good question.

I see that this question rivals another on the page rubbishing the Eagles. It is OK for that to happen but if you retaliate & rubbish the Pies, or another Vic based team, their feral fans come out in arms!

Collingwood are pathetic. They are supposed to have the worlds best facilities; best coach; best president; best players; best etc etc etc......but they run out onto the ground & ploay like girls.

**There are several teams that seem to think they're the greatest team in the AFL - Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood.  

Even though I don't believe that any of these teams are if you're judging the best team based on how many Grand Finals they have won then you'd have to say Carlton are the greatest team as they have won the most Grand Finals.

At the end of the day, generally, everyone thinks that the team they barrack for is the best in the AFL - otherwise why would they barrack for them?

they are the onyl team to win 4 straight flags.

although melbourne could have won 5 straight a long time ago. they won 3 flags then lost a grand final and then won the next grand final. 4 out of 5

Non-Victorian clubs got benefits when they joined they AFL, they are now wearing off and the Victorian clubs are taking over. There's only 2 non-Vic teams in the 8 this year and it won't be long until there is one, or none.

We'll see if you're still saying NO wooden spoon at the end of the year  :)

Adelaide supporter here...I dont believe that my side is better than the next each side has its ups and downs but Collingwood fans are arrogant and its plain to see. the fact is its the afl now not the vfl and stats from before 87 mean nothing to interstate teams. To say collingwood won 4 premierships means stuff all to the lions backtobacktoback. That also being said good on Essendon today for beating the pies when no one thought they would win. I like in when the underdog wins makes for a surprisingly great game.

Im not a Collingwood supporter im a hawthorn supporter and we have to verse them next week so i should be worried about how they play.
