  1. you obviously forgot that Bush put an incompetant Brown.  Didnt do mandatory evac and didnt have enough national guard to help in the katrina evac. we dont expect Bush to control the weather but to handle a disaster correctly would be good here and because he didnt and still hasnt worked to help rebuild a major US city is why people blame him.

Could he atleast get the d**n refridgerators out of the trees man.

  2. because in typical democrat fashion, blame Bush for everything, even though they were 99% responsible for the fiasco that resulted from Katrina.

  3. Because George Bush controls the weather.

  4. [National Guard

Governor Kathleen Blanco (D) requested, via a letter to the National Guard Bureau on August 30th, additional National Guard troops from other states to supplement the Louisiana National Guard, but approval did not occur until September 1st.[53] New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson had offered assistance to Blanco two days before the storm hit, but could not send his troops until approval came from the National Guard Bureau.[53] Blanco later acknowledged that she should have called for more troops sooner, and that she should have activated a compact with other states that would have allowed her to bypass the requirement to route the request through the National Guard Bureau.[citation needed]

Some 40% of Louisiana's National Guard was deployed to Iraq at the time[53], and critics claim that use of the National Guard to boost troop numbers in Iraq left them unready to handle disasters at home.]

    [Recommended charities

FEMA was criticized for giving undue prominence to Operation Blessing International, placing it as #2 on their list of recommended charities right after the American Red Cross.[48] Operation Blessing is a charity founded, and still chaired by, Pat Robertson, the television evangelist with quite well-known political connections.]

[FEMA was accused of deliberately slowing things down, in an effort to insure that all assistance and relief workers were coordinated properly. For example, Michael D. Brown, the head of FEMA, on August 29, urged all fire and emergency services departments not to respond to counties and states affected by Hurricane Katrina without being requested and lawfully dispatched by state and local authorities under mutual aid agreements and the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.]

[White House and homeland security officials wouldn't explain why Chertoff waited some 36 hours to declare Katrina an incident of national significance and why he didn't immediately begin to direct the federal response from the moment on Aug. 27 when the National Hurricane Center predicted that Katrina would strike the Gulf Coast with catastrophic force in 48 hours. Nor would they explain why Bush felt the need to appoint a separate task force.

Chertoff's hesitation and Bush's creation of a task force both appear to contradict the National Response Plan and previous presidential directives that specify what the secretary of homeland security is assigned to do without further presidential orders. The goal of the National Response Plan is to provide a streamlined framework for swiftly delivering federal assistance when a disaster – caused by terrorists or Mother Nature – is too big for local officials to handle.]

There is nothing more pathetic than the Republicans not only crowing about how WELL Jindal has "handled" Gustav, but NOW claiming the Bush administration had nothing to do with the Katrina fiasco.

If you will notice the Republicans have all but closed down their convention and focused EVERY resource imaginable on Gustove, and have been doing so since it was in Cuba.

I think you need to refresh your memory a bit about the facts surrounding Katrina before you conveniently absolve your political party of the blame for the Katrina fiasco.

Just because4 you have a new Barbie doll top play with doesn't erase all the damage that Bush has done.

I have never seen a group of people who can so easily be swayed by superficial glee created by simply staying "on message".

Republicans have no business running a country.

  5. I never understood this either. It's not Bush's fault that people wouldn't leave their town because they didn't want to leave their homes or whatever. Bush tried to tell them to evacuate, but a lot of them didn't listen. I don't think Bush should be blamed for other people's actions. They are just blaming him because some people think he is such a bad president and they want to say things are his fault when the aren't. I never understood how someone could blame him for weather or other things that he shouldn't be blamed for.

  6. I disagree, but there are a lot of people who don't.

  7. GEORGE WALKER BUSH IS GOD.  THEREFORE, IT IS HIS FAULT FOR NOT PROTECTING HIS CHILDREN.

  8. i have never understood this either..if they issued warnings to get out of the city and you chose not too...its your problem you didnt think far enough ahead to have enough water and food when it was over..noone can predict what a storm will do once it hits land..but you have to know if you build below sea level its not going to be pretty..its another case of i want you to pay me because im ignorant kinda like the welfare system is today...do i feel sorry for people who lost everything yes i do...but i also think you have to take responsibility for your actions..you either help yourself or you dont..but dont rely on others to do it all for you...

  9. Yes they do, you lost the argument when Bush said "your doing a heck of a job Brownie" with pictures on the screen of what was happening in New Orleans Most people also think the Mayor  and the Governor  messed up, but we do not  vote for them, and it does not excuse FEMA's failures

  10. Libs take responsiility for nothing, they're the party of "it's somebody elses fault".

They also suck in an emergency.
