Because they like it, or want to fit in, or, in some cases, are addicted to it.

I smoke because its a good time and me and my friends just have fun, it has nothing to do with being cool.  You should try it with them, open your mind and have a life experience, and you will become better friends with the people you smoke with, i sure have anyway.
