Question

when they say that their fat and then 2 seconds later they go into braggin about how they weigh like 93 ponds

my friend does this all the time and it drives me CRAZY cause like out of nowhere she'll be like i wiegh 92 pounds im so fat

or she'll be like yeah i tried on a skirt that was a size 0 and it was wayyy to big and then she'll be like im such a fatty

it makes u feel bad cause im 115 pounds and it just annoys the h**l outa me

so my question is WHY????????????????

do they only do it for attention ur w/e cause i know that it cant be that they actually think they r fat

it might be fun, and for her to get the message to say really you think so, yeah you should go on a diet or something or just be happy with they way u r cuz ure stinkin perfect!!!  

and whatnot.

but dont give in and say 'oh no ure sooooo skinny, my gosh! ohh blah blah blah!'  just be like yeah, whatever and change the subject

They want to be complimented. That's all they're doing. Fishing for compliments. Ignore her, and change the subject.

I'm pretty sure it's for attention. She may even be fishing for a compliment from you. Maybe she wants to hear you tell her that she's thin and not fat.

Honestly, I wouldn't give her the satisfaction of responding to her when she does this. Just ignore her and hopefully she'll get the point that you just don't care about her weight or skinniness one way or another.

my friend does that all the time too. she just wants people to say shes skinny and after she says shes fat like the next day shes talking about how she lost ten pounds. so to answer your question its for attention

i used to do that and it's because atleast me being a short girl even weighing 90-100 i do look fat, if i were taller then i'd actually look like a sack of bones, lol, but even weighing 95 pounds i have rolls of fat.

but really, right now i don't care anymore, grew out of the "saying i'm fat" phase. now i just think it

I think that they just want people to tell them that they are not fat. And that they just need more attention. And I know people that do that, and it makes me feel really bad about myself.

Basically, I think taht they just want more compliments about themselves. And just explain to your friend that it bothers you and makes you feel bad. Trust me, I have had to do that before.

Some girls do it to be complimented. Others do it because it has become a catch-phrase, sort of.

When I'm with my close girlfriends, we call each other fatty, fattycakes, and fat cow. It's just funny.

im 110 pounds and my friend was talking about how shes like 95 pounds or something like that and like OH MY GOD im soooooo fat i need to loose weight or go on a pill or something.
