It comes from their own low self esteem. They are uncomfortable in their own skin and it only makes them feel better to lash out on others. Don't let it get to you, if you are comfortable with the way you look in the mirror than take more comfort knowing that they aren't

Call me crazy, but my kids have always thought that the word "fat" was a bad word just like the "A" word. They aren't allowed to say it about themselves or about anybody else...Some teens just haven't been taught any better or , even worse, have been taught and don't care. You're right, tho. It does hurt feelings. For a long time.

It's not just teens. Although it's ridiculous, there are loads of jerks who feel free to make rude comments about your body. Hang in there.

Same reason people make fun of handicap people...because they are stupid, ignorant and not happy with themselves so they have to make others feel like $hit so they can try and feel better. They all deserve to get punched in the mouth.
