Y does victoria and the AFL hate the eagles so much?

iv been supporting eagles for 11 years now (since i was 7) they are a rich ,classy club full of pride and success. but the AFL and the victorian people don't seem to like us much? y? is it cos we were the first non victorian team to win a flag?

Vic people don't like any Non-Vic teams, not just the Eagles, and the AFL protect all non-Vic teams so your question does not really make sense, Maybe your only feeling this way because the Eagles are playing so poor you are looking for things to whinge about.

We were the first team out of Victoria to win a premiership - they STILL have hard feelings against us! were west Australian and been the most successful team 3 premierships in 14 years! they have a massive/huge/overwhelming amount of supports and a 10,000 waiting list. we are having one bad year - never got the wooden spoon - and as soon as we go down hill (10 consistent years in the finals) they are the first to pay us out.

They are the wealthiest club, 2 biggest supporter base, 3 premierships in 14 years and very proud! SHE IS RIGHT!

We were forced to give up Cuzzy - god bless him - but now the afl say he can now play for any Vic team! Juddy, left us to go "home". and now they wanna steel kerr! i don't think so!

Many Victorians have never forgiven the Eagles for being the first non-Vic team to take the AFL flag....in fact we have won three, causes them further angst!

Collingwood, the team with the worst supporters Australia wide (mainly their feral-females), absolutely hate the Eagles because their "Saviour" (Steady Eddie McGuire) came into WA & head-hunted the current eagles coach, Mick malthouse.

They thought that with Mick & all the experience he had gained with the mighty Eagles would gtuarantee them a flag. In fact it only highlighted how pathetic the Collingwood FC was.....they couldn't win a fremiership in a fit! They've got close....& who can ever forget Mick blubbering & crying while stumbling about on the MCG after one of their losses.

Most others who destest the Eagles are just plain jealous of our achievements.

The only half decent team outside Victoria is Brisbane( no coke sniffers up there hey WC)

Did i read that right 'Classy', come on Danni, they haven't been too classy over the last few years, i' am talking about their off field antics here.

I don't hate the eagles as i have stated here many times, they are having a bad patch with injuries from week 1 this season,but when you have players like Kerr doing ridiculous things on field, like the hit on Matty white, it just doesn't make sense, either he wants out or he is just an idiot,(top player, it goes without saying) he is letting his team down and you supporters.

I tend to think us Victorians hate each others teams more than the non-Victorian sides, rich,coll,carl and ess fans hate each others teams, that has been around for over 100 years, if we really hated the Eagles and other non-Vic teams the games would be sold out when they come over to Victoria. like the big crowds those 4 i mentioned get when they play each other.

I have to agree with andy k. As with any (or most) supporters, the vics are very one eyed towards their own team. It also goes without saying that the vics have the proudest heritage in the sport, as it is where AFL first started. Don't worry about it too much. Every team has their ups and downs, and at the moment we're just on the down side.

Although I have to argue with whoever it was that said that Judd left because he was ashamed. Judd didn't leave WCE because of team behaviour, it was because HE IS FROM VICTORIA and wanted to go back home to be with his friends and family. You can't say that WCE is the only team with players who get themselves in bad situations!

The West Coke Weagles have been full of undesirable players for years. Michael Braun, Ben Cousins, Michael Gardiner, Daniel Chick, Daniel Kerr, Adam Selwood etc. have done some bad things over the last few years.

Look at Chris Judd - he left the place because he was ashamed to be captain of all these undesirable hacks.

The Weagles have been a disgrace to Australia and hopefully they can rid of these bad people.

I agree they have celebrated a lot of success since joining the VFL/AFL, but the behaviour of the players and club certainly shouldnt be prided on - and Cousins??  need I say more?

I dont like them coz they were the first 'non-Victorian team' to join the VFL....plus their supporters can be so arrogant :P
