  1. The equation of the line will have the form

    y=mx+c

    where m is the slope and c is the intercept.

    The slope is (50.83-9.81)/(49.23-10.45)=1.06 (rounding to 2dp).

    Therefore the equation is

    y=1.06x+c.

    Now substitute in either point. I will use (10.45,9.81)

    9.81=1.06(10.45)+c

    =>c=-1.27 (2dp)

    and the equation is

    y=1.06x-1.27

    (-1.27 is the y intercept).

    Clearly keeping more decimal places in the values you calculate will improve the accuracy.
