  1. If the line goes through points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), the gradient m is:

    m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1).

    m comes to 1.05776.

    Don't round it off yet.

    The equation of the line is:

    y = mx + c

    y = 1.05776x + c

    where c is the y intercept.

    To find c, substitute one of the x values, and the corresponding y value.

    Using the first point (10.45, 9.81):

    9.81 = 1.05776 * 10.45 + c

    Subtracting 1.05776 * 10.45 from each side of the equation:

    c = 9.81 - 1.05776 * 10.45

    = - 1.24.

    Rounding off:

    m = 1.06, c = - 1.24.
