  1. well i went last year.. and yes it is a pretty good camp. you do not really need to train but i would make sure my skills are up to going. there isnt really any conditioning. its mostely drills and ball handeling stuff. on one of the days they will split you up whether you are a setter, hitter, libero, or defensive specialist. Hope i helped!

  2. wow that is great. I did a camp when i was in 8th grade at Colorado University...but it wasn't $1,000. That is pretty spendy. But if you are hoping to play volleyball all the way to college, then thats great. I bet if you do another camp that your school offers, you will be doing about the same things, just a lot cheaper. But I did a week camp, and we mainly had 4 days of pure vollebyall skills, and then a couple days for conditioning/weight training. Its tough sometimes, but you will make lots of new friends!

  3. I don't know if it will be super fun but it should be pretty fun.

  4. Hey I'm going to the same camp with my team! July 13th to the 17th!

  5. i think it will be more conditioning and traing yea it`ll help

  6. holy **** 1000 dollars just for that?

  7. Penn State is really alot of fun.  I went 2 years ago with my team.  When you go there's usually a lot of other sports camps going on at the same time so you get to meet a lot of new people.  I remeber my team met an ice hockey team, a rugby team, and there were also field hockey players, but that depends on the dates of your session.  Anyway as far as conditioning goes you probably won't have to do that much before camp.  You should be in shape anyway though.  The earlier you train for preseason the better. At camp I doubt they'll teach you anything that you don't know already.  They might go more in depth to some things but that's about it.  Its mainly just drills.  Make sure that you bring a fanif your a resident! I remember when I went it was sooo hot because the dorms don't have air conditioning.

Also another really good camp to try are the Nike camps.  They do a lot of individual assessment and really help you get all of the fundamentals perfected and help you to get some of the more advanced things (jump serves,  jump float serves, quicks, slides, spot serving and hitting) down.

  8. First of all congrats! Second, I've never been so I don't know what to expect but a good volleyball camp will be a mix of skill and conditioning and depending on the level of the athlete might be a little more conditioning. So by all means, work on your conditioning and stamina, you should always work on those as an athlete.

    Have fun!
