  1. Usually Curtis makes pipes for specific bike setups.  Installing the X-6 on a bone-stock YFZ is probably not what he intended for best performance.

I'd recommend either an email or phone call to Sparks http://www.alwaysopenmall.com/layouts/02... tell him what you've got, and what you're looking for.  Sparks has been around for a long time, he's usually straight up about what his products will do, and what works best for your specific application.

Many of the manufacturers have stopped showing dyno numbers, because these are so easy to 'fake'.  There are a few companies that are known to really blow out the numbers, so honest manufacturers have a hard time explaining why their numbers are lower (even though their systems make better power).  If you're interested in how companies do this, check out http://www.powroll.com/tech_specs_dyno.h...

  2. Generally a new pipe will add on up to 4ish horse power. Remember when adding on a pipe to a carburated quad you must re-jet so it does not run rich and burn your motor. As far as specs, you may try to contact Curtis Sparks and see if they have and dyno sheets. I doubt it but it is possible.

Just to throw this out there, if this is your first aftermarket pipe, I would suggest also buying an intake. The BEST intake for a yfz is a FCI, expensive but you will not get the same performance out of any other intake/filter.

With a new pipe, filter/intake, and re-jetted, you can generate about 8 more hp.

  3. jennifer, i have looked up best i could and have found no suggested or posted increase from this mfg. The best bet would be to find a local bike/4 wheeler shop with a dyno machine and have them run it for you.

hopefully somebody else has already done this.
