I am wondering if there is an age restricting pertaining to the YMCA Locker rooms/showers. Does any one know?

  1. i think if its a small child under the age of 5 they must be accompanied by an adult and they go in the locker room that coresponds with the adults gender (mother takes son into womens locker room not the mens)

other than that u go to whichever locker room is appropriate for ur gender

i suggest flip flops (they may be required... if not id wear them any way) and i believe u still have to shower before entering the pool area (at least u did when i was 6 and took swim lessons there)

  2. no i work at a y.m.c.a

  3. no, i showered there when i took swim lessons and i've been swimming since i was a baby

  4. The family Y I went to had an age restriction--12 and under boys went to the boys locker rooms. But I think it depends on whether they have separate men/boy locker rooms and their own policies. Just give them a call.

  5. No, there should not be an age restriction. But any little kid should be accompanied by an adult- safety, not getting lost, etc. Any kid around 8-10 and up (depending on how well behaved) should have no problem in a locker room. Of course they need to know not to talk to strangers, only ask the desk personnel for help, etc.
