  1. too much money for a used one

  2. mossberg...ughh...i wouldnt of had gotten it...my dads has one and its a piece of c**p...it looks to be made rather cheaply compared to the remingtons and winchesters...his wobbles alot too...he had it for less then a year and the reciever is acting up as though it does not want to load and unload...i would of doubled up and gotten a better and newer shot gun...

  3. Skip the Maverick and go for a new or used Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 (my personal favorite).  The new Mossbergs have a double action bar now so they are pretty sturdy.  Also, there are many after-market barrels and accessories for these guns.  Much better value than the Maverick.

  4. Not a bad shotgun but the price is close to a brand new one.  Offer a hundred and twenty or just buy a new one.

  5. You ask for opinions and that's what you got

Unfortunately they were short on fact

Depending on the exact configuration of the shotgun they go for between about $200 and $325

The $150 may of may not be a great price but if in excellent to like new condition it is certainly not a bad price for any configuration of the Maverick

    Mossberg is far from junk

At least the military, many police agencies and Serbu don't think they are

Low or high brass has nothing to do with the power or kick og the round it only means that a low or high brass base was used by the company making the shell

The double bar action id far from new, it's just not on the Maverick

99.9% of the civilians that buy a shotgun will never get into a firefight with it so this fascination with combat ready go to was firearms is just that a fascination not a nevessity

  6. dangerous

  7. It is a well made good shotgun, however you can buy them brand new for $160.00 Dollars.*

  8. Both are good guns.  I owned a Maverick 12 gauge pump composite so let me caution you, it DOES recoil hard.  Don't let the barrel come up and strike you on the face.  Use low brass lightweight ammo until you master the recoil.  You should do fine with the .30-06 Savage.  Just hold it firmly to your shoulder when you shoot.

    Happy hunting.

  9. Unfortunately, there appears to be a lot of trolls in the hunting section tonight...Don't listen to them, and just ignore their comments.

    Vangion is correct.

The firearms you bought are just fine, and are made by quality manufacturers.  You did good.

Now, you and your husband go out and have a wonderful time enjoying the sport of shooting together.

We should all be so lucky to have a wife as thoughtful as you.

  10. Are you trying to say you bought a thirty aught-six? If so that's a rifle, not a shotgun. Both are good names in firearms.
