YTB, And other at-home scams.?

Hello, I have been interested in working at home for the last year now. I have tried thin and few of the online 'oppurtunities' because most of these looked like scams.

I've recently stumbled apon Your Travel Business or YTB which looked completely legit and profitable. After googling just 'YTB' I came across many negative reviews or this business.

So really, my question is:

Is there any at home business's that are not scams, that actually make a decent profitable living? I'm not looking for hundreds of thousands a year. I'm content on $30,000-$40,000 a year. I just want to work in the comfort of my own home and enjoy the freedom of that.

Any responses would be MUCHLY appreciated.

  1. My husband and I just started our own business at home.  We are Ebay affiliates, and we offer a free download of software that makes searching for items on Ebay faster and more fun.

It does cost $199 for a license fee, then $29 a month, but we have recovered that quickly.  We enjoy it because it's easy and we can work it hard or take our time.  We enjoy helping other people add to their income.  The website is www.myshoppinggenie.com/spencer1.  Feel free to email me with any questions at spenc52001@yahoo.com.  Good luck in whatever you pursue!

  2. I work from home as a rep for a company called Univera. It is not a scam. It promotes healthy living and I have been blessed with a team of business partners that really do give me the resources to succeed. If you are looking for a company that makes a difference in health, wellness and financial freedom and has a 100 year plan, this would be it.

I would really encourage you to check out their website at www.univera.com then contact me at agelessunivera@yahoo.com and I would be glad to give you more info on how to get started

Anyone that asks for money to send you info on how to get started  is a scam...

I also googled Univera Life Sciences before I became a part of this company and there is not any negative info....plus my business partner is a Corporate Business Acquisition Lawyer and he definitely does his research before joining anything!

  3. YTB is not a scam.  I'm not a business owner in YTB but I do know a couple of people who are and do make a very good living off of this.  This is the only form of income they have, and are self sufficient.

Unstoppable dreams is correct!  I gave him a thumbs up!

Here's something that all real business people know! Don't go to blogs or reports such as ripoffreports or watchdog or any other blog spot. because they don't distinguish if a business is legit, real or not. The BBB should only be used as a tool to see if a business is registered.  If they are, then you know that it's a legitament business. Only members of the BBB are legitament businesses, past that it becomes another blog.  Blogs are places that negative people go to only to vent their flustrations on something that did not work for them. Usually these people are the ones who did not do what was needed to succeed in a business because they didn't put the time or effort needed to succeed, or do what other's who "have" succeeded in that particular industry had advised them to do. They didn't follow the advice or properly take advantage of any training in the industry that was offered. Anyhow, the majority of the negative things from past representatives and consumers as well, that are usually 80 percent false accusations. They can't fess up to the fact of the real reason why they failed in business. Instead of standing up and admitting to what they really did or did not do, they try and pass the buck onto someone or something else to try and justify their failure. Basically to make themselves feel better and to distract the attention of the "real" reason why they didn't succeed. That's what blogs are basically about. So when searching for a business for yourself, look for yourself, not anyone else's. Talk to the people who are involved in the company "now" not then. The ones involved then and not now have failed in there busines, they are only going to give you negative feed back and not tell you the truth as to why they didn't succeed and label it a scam or even to the extent in some occasions calling it a fraud. They detour you away from seeing the real opportunity that you can have because they failed. Which isn't right. You need to be a leader not a follower. If your a follower of negative impact, then that's how life will always be for you, negative!

You need to understand that Businesses take time to build. The average time to build a successful business is anywhere from 2 to 5 years. That doesn't mean that you won't make a sufficient amount of income before this time. Depending on how much work and effort you put into it, will determine how much income you make and how quickly it increases. Making a business successful is entirely up to you. Most home based business opportunities have support and training systems to help you be successful.  YOU have to follow that system from that industry, if you don't, you will fail!  Pretty simple.

You asked of any other type of opportunities.  There are plenty of different ones to take a look at. .  I created a blog on my 360 yahoo page on home based business opportunities.  Over half a dozen different ones to choose from in several different industries.  Also a lot of information on scams, what to look for the BBB, and a few other things you should be educated on on know before getting involved and starting a business.  You'll need to work it, not try it.  If you just try, you won't succeed!  This is your bread and butter, you need to treat it like that, not a hand me down.

  4. Almost all ads in newspapers and internet are scams. Don't ever try. It may burn you pocket for paying registration fees, advance, processing fees etc., which you'll not understanding to whom and where the amount is credited.

  5. I'm a stay at home mom with a website/travel hobby that earns money. It was a very slow process at first but now a steady stream of income. The company helps with marketing, design, monetizing, hosting and teaches you how to make it show up in the top 30 on a search, hosting and so much more there is a small fee nothing worth while is free. The fee is prorated and refunded if you don't like it. good luck

Try the "about us" page at www.cheap-fun-family-travel

I'm in the top 20 on Yahoo and the top 40 on google, 40 on live and 30 on Ask my page rating is 1,212,909 out of billions not bad after only 3 months

  6. YTB is not a scam.  Their stock is publicly traded, they've recently been approved to trade on the OTCBB, and they are a member of the DSA.  The DSA is the Direct Sellers Association, and to become a member the petiitoning company has to go through a year long evaluation where the DSA evaluates their practices to confirm whether they are legit or not.

I challenge anyone to find a single legit MLM whoes google results aren't peppered with negative reviews calling them scams.  99% of them are written by competitors and people who tried the business thinking that they would get rich quick without having to work.  Always question the source.  YTB's been in buisness for over 7 years and publicly traded fo 5 or 6.  If they were a scam, there would be class action law suits leveled at them and they would no longer be in business.

Here are several third party articles about YTB:

These are legit sources including Reuters, Travel Trade, Npros, DSA, and Yahoo News.

Before you go blasting the livelyhoods of over 100,000 people, perhaps you should do some serious homework.

That being said, the person who told you about YTB should have been able to tell you this stuff.

  7. Many home based businesses generate an income of $30,000-$40,000 and higher. The key is to build a business and offer a product, service and/or information of value. There are many great resources available.
