After failing to cement his place in Frederic Antonetti’s side, Yacine Brahimi has expressed his desire to leave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stade-Rennais-FC-c40612
Yacine Brahimi has decided to leave Rennes in order to find first-team football. The young striker has barely featured in 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign and made only 17 appearances.
Usually deployed as a playmaker in the side, Brahimi scored two goals last season. Displeased by his lack of playing time, the 22-year-old has expressed his disappointment at not featuring regularly and has vowed to kick-start his career somewhere else.
The Frenchman, who is under contract with the Red and Blacks until 2014, missed a part of the season through injury. After his return from the injury, Brahimi failed to find his rhythm and his case was not helped by his failure to get more game-time.
While talking to reporters, Yacine Brahimi expressed his disappointment at not getting more game-time and slammed the club for not utilising him more often.
“When I came back (after the injury), it's been a bit of disappointment for me. Club did not count on me as they should have. I was told that I am still in their plans but that was not the case. I had several discussions with the coach and with the management.
I did not understand why I was not getting game time while it was the best solution for me to get back in form."
Yacine Brahimi stressed that it is in his best interest to leave Les Rouges et Noirs. The Frenchman said that he has made up his mind and his decision to seek a move away from Route de Lorient is final.
"There is no controversy about me leaving the club. As I have explained to the management, after my injury I need more games. At this stage of my career I cannot warm the bench and I want to play. I have reached the point of no return. We need to move on.”
There are few clubs who are keen to attain the services of young striker who has such a promising future. Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach and English side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, are interested in signing the 22-year-old.
