Yah Muppet takes victory in Tuesday’s OWLERTON BOOKMAKERS SPRINT at Sheffield
Two For Atanner, was the centre of attention, as THE OWLERTON BOOKMAKERS SPRINT started off at Sheffield on Tuesday, February 7. However, Yah Muppet managed to steal the show, sealing the top position in the 280 metre long Grade OR heat.
The blue dog was carrying the winning chances of 4 to 1, stepping out from the first trap. His early pace earned him a decent lead, and he never lost his dominance afterwards.
By reaching the ultimate destination in just 16.31 seconds, C. T. Lynch’s trainee scooped a cash prize of £200. It was a convincing triumph for Surf Lorian’s son, out of Bebo Babe, as he grabbed the top slot by 1 ½ lengths.
The second position was secured by Droopys Peaches – someone with the starting price of 11 to 4. The black b***h also showed an early pace, and her fine run early on guided her to a strong position.
At one stage, she had a good chance to trouble the champion, but the luck wasn’t on her side. As a result, E. T. Parker’s trained b***h made it to the finishing line in 16.43 seconds.
Blackshaw Stacie remained slightly unlucky, and lost the race by just a neck’s margin. Black Shaw’s daughter, out of Moments Of Joy, was bumped at the first bend and therefore, she lost her chances to surpass the top-2.
After breaking from the fourth stall with the winning possibility of 9 to 2, the black b***h completed her run in 16.46 seconds.
Bowtime Honcho, and Pass The Port finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Since J. Sharp’s trainee was baulked near the beginning, it was quite tough for him to end up among the top-3.
Top Honcho’s son out of Traceys Hero, who was sent off with the odds of 8 to 1, concluded the affair in 16.50 seconds. Pass The Port remained behind by 2 ½ lengths, and finished fifth on the chart.
The 9 to 2 chance holder wrapped up the proceedings in 16.70 seconds, and the 9 to 4 race favourite, Two For Atanner completed the order of finish. The black dog was badly baulked in the early hours, crossing the wire in 16.73 seconds.
After a couple of ordinary races, Yah Muppet has finally registered his first victory. He has made a good start to his career, and will be a dangerous hound in the upcoming heats.
