Question:

Yahoo 360 administrative notice?

by  |  earlier

ok...I just got the famous "administrative notice" telling me I will have my account cancelled if I fail to follow the TOS.

I don't understand why. It's set to mature content. I also had 2 pictures removed from the page by yahoo. I downloaded them from a yahoo search.....could that be the problem?

Where can I get free photos/artwork/pics for my page?

Please be nice....I'm new to this and I could really use some help with my page and blog setup. Thanks.

All about Yahoo 360 page and how to set it up and how to add some things to it.

    360 Guidelines

Most art work do show a lot of skin so you need to be sure that these are well know art works or know for a fact this is art work.

Most people see a naked person and freak out.And some do not know art.

And still there are minors that for what ever reason can get on a page.

Then there are those who are just trouble makers.

So may be you can add the artist name and some detail about the artist and this will help.

    You can add youtube video.

    copy the embed code

check the HTML box at the top of the compose Blog page

paste and add text and tag, preview and post.

  2. I'm not sure without being able to see the images that were removed. But I can tell you the following:

You still must follow the Yahoo Terms of Service (http://info.yahoo.com/legal/us/yahoo/uto... ) and guidelines for any Yahoo services such as Yahoo! 360:

    360 Guidelines: (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui... ) and

360 Personal Profile Picture Guidelines: (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui... ). Consider your pics being deleted as a warning.

There are parts of your 360 that are always seen by the public (even to those without 360 accounts...i.e. via search engines like Google): your personal profile pics, background and friends module. This is partially why any mature/adult content must be confined to your blog area under mature content controls. Mature content includes text and pictures (sexually suggestive, semi-nude, or nude).

The blog is the only area that has mature content controls. Set your entire blog to mature content or specific entries. It doesn't matter if your blog is only for friends or not OR how people get to your 360:

    - You can access blog settings by clicking the "Settings" link at the top and clicking "Blog Settings" on the left OR while in "My Blog" clicking "Edit Blog Settings" in the top center of the 360 window. If you set it for the entire blog now, you still have to go back to previous entries and check any that contain mature/adult content.

    - For individual entries, click the "Edit" link below an entry, click the "Show Options" link and check the mature content option, then re-save.

Now, with that said, you can get a JPEG formatted image under 250KB (backgrounds) and under 5MB (for everywhere else) anywhere. As long as you aren't violating any copyright, you can right-click on the image and choose a save option to save the image to your hard drive. Common places to search is http://images.google.com , http://flickr.com and http://photobucket.com .

As for other issues regarding 360, I encourage you to read and experiment based on what you find out from the following sources:

    - HELP Pages: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/

    - For MORE TIPS see some of my previous answers on various Y!360 & Y/A subjects by clicking on my avatar and scrolling down to click on my "Starred Questions" tab.

    - For IDEAS you can check out other 360 pages by clicking on your "Search" link at the top of 360 or by going to http://360.yahoo.com/search.html

    - The 360 team blog at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 has many helpful links on the right side to help with setting up a 360 space and using other services with it.

  3. Are you sure it was from Yahoo? For a while there were some jokers who were sending out mails to the 360 people telling them they were going to be terminated for violating the TOS agreement and it was just a big fake..

Sounds to me like you have a monitor that is extremely picky about the issue of mature content and violating it..

Or you have attracted the ill will of someone who is reporting abuse by you to yahoo.. most of those are handled electronically these days without much human interaction on the part of the complaints..

Just be careful about what you place in your pages for a while and then try to put your art on there again.

The one thing which they will NOT ever allow is the placing of naked children or teenagers on a site.. this is an honorable trait I feel Yahoo has in place. There are too many Pedophiles roaming these pages to not have strict rules about that in particular subject.
