  1. The Yahoo 360 is a social networking blog site, that offers free accounts to anyone who makes a free or paid Yahoo mail account. You are given the options to interact with other Yahoo 360 account holders with IM, quick comments, or intersite message mail.

The word Blog is short for "web log." Basically, a blog is an online journal. You can write or post about whatever you like: updates of your life, political opinions, a great trip, favorite recipes, what music you're listening to -- anything that strikes your fancy.

Your blog can include words, photos, or both. Yahoo! 360° publishes and saves all your blog entries for easy access as time goes by. You decide how private or public to make your blog by setting your permission preferences.

Blogs are usually composed of one or more blog entries. Each entry can have its own title and always says the date and time you published it. Blogs show the last entry first, and you can scroll down to read earlier entries. So it's like a reverse diary.

You can easily add a photo to your blog entry if you want. You can also make bold text, change colors and backgrounds, format your text, or add emoticons and even web links. If you know HTML, you can make even more changes, if you want. But your blog will look great even if you don't use any of these extras.

Yahoo 360 has been in a state of flux since last fall. Yahoo is eventually doing away with the 360 as it is now and installing a new profile platform with blogging capabilities in the last part of the year 2008.

You may read the 360 Product Blog at this link.. the last three entries deal with the new thing they are bringing us..

  2. Technically, if you have a Yahoo ID, then you already have 360. It's one of Yahoo's free services that involves social networking and combines many Yahoo! services into one area.  It stays dormant until you activate it. Check out an old press release that explains "What is Yahoo! 360?": http://docs.yahoo.com/docs/pr/release122... . Many people are using 360 now to find and meet new people.

While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page!

////You should be able to do the following to get into your 360 space, when you've activated your 360:

    - LOG OUT of all Yahoo services

    - Go to http://360.yahoo.com

    - Click the teeny tiny "Sign-in" link on the upper left of the page. After signing in, the page refreshes and you should click on the teeny tiny "Yahoo 360 Home" link on the upper right of the page to get into the 360 space.////

For more details on how to set up elements of your 360 space, see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/ . Keep in mind that 360 is a beta service, so there are many bugs. If you have problems, check the Answers area or click on my avatar to see the Starred Questions section in my Y/A profile.

Y!360 is transitioning into a different social networking platform in the second half of 2008. Yahoo is trying to centralize its profiling services - Y!Mash, Y!360, and the regular Members profile - into one. See http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 for more details. However, they are no longer fixing bugs related to Y!360, so there's no point in trying to contact them about glitches.

IMPORTANT!: Thoroughly read the 360 COMMUNITY GUIDELINES at http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui... .

    Check out some 360 pages: http://360.yahoo.com/search.html .

NOTE: Some features are not available to users under age 18 for safety reasons.

    Good luck! Welcome to 360!

  3. Yahoo!360 is a blogging site. This means that you can write something that interests you and share it with friends. But if you don't like writing you can still use it to post and share photos, music or videos or ..simply talk to your friends. You must sign up to Yahoo! 360 and then you can invite your friends. It's an amazing experience!
