Question:

Yahoo! Finance Suggestion: Add Portfolio Tracking with Charts?

Hello,

I think it would be very advantageous for Yahoo Finance if you created a tool that would improve upon the current portfolio tracker by adding a chart function that tracks the portfolio's overall performance over time. If the current transaction feature is used to enter data into the portfolio, performance data could easily be found from this.

Features could include the ability compare overall portfolio performance versus major indices or equities and a performance comparison of each stock within the portfolio, in a fashion similar to the existing chart function. This would be a very strong tool for investors to easily visually keep track of which of their stocks are leading or lagging.

Surprisingly I have not been able to find a single website that offers this feature yet. This could be a very powerful tool for Yahoo Finance, which I'm sure would attract many more investors to your website.

Please let me know what you think or if it is already in development.

Thanks,

KH

  1. It does show overall gain/loss data in the performance view (or annualized gain/loss) - just not in a chart view.
