Question:

Yahoo Finance not accepting my edits?

I'm a long-time user and fan of Yahoo Finance, and use it daily as the core data source for keeping track on my investments.

However, I've noticed lately that Yahoo has stopped showing any edits I do to my portfolios, such as adding a new ticker symbol, or even creating a new portfolio.

When I go into edit mode, my edits are all in place, but they do not show up when I leave edit mode. I've never had this problem before, and am at a loss to figure out what's happening.

The only changed condition is that I set up My Yahoo recently. But it responds the same way - not showing my added ticker symbols or newly created portfolios, unless I go into edit mode, where everything is correctly recorded.

What's up?

  1. IMHO:  There seems to be a sporadic caching, database sync or some sort of delay at times.  Try clearing private data/deleting all history in your browser for cache, cookies, history, form data, temp files, etc...

  2. I've been having some similar issues too.

They've been having several issues lately syncing up data.  Just keep trying and it should eventually work.

If the problem persists, you may need to report it to customer care.  To get there, start with the help link at the top (right) of the page (in Yahoo! Finance).

From there, choose a category on the left to get things going.

On that page, select one of the options and scroll down to the bottom of the page where there should be a button to contact customer care.

It may take a few exchanges with them to finally get to the core, but don't fret, just keep with it.

    Good luck!
