Question:

Yahoo! Go Connection Method - SMS or GPRS?

I always thought Yahoo! Go 's connection is through GPRS/EDGE. But recently I read through its policy before sign in. Its stated there 'Your telco might charge you for SMS sent during sign in" ... This would cost a lot if one or more sms is sent everytime it sign in to synchronise. If I set to sync every 30mins, means at least 48 sms a day?

Meanwhile, I'm subsribing to unlimited data plan (EDGE/GPRS), why cant it use this connection to sign in?

  1. This message will be only a one time message used to verify the phone number you are using. Regular day to day operations will happen through GPRS only. So no need to worry.. just go ahead and let it send that one time SMS.
