Yahoo Group for gamers?

Question

i just registered myself for Yahoo Group gamers_for_life.

i'm new to this and kinda clueless of what happen there. should i introduce myself first before i post any messages? if i did, what's next?

the moderator stated that he'll reject any new member who came in just to say Hi without filling completely the questionare for new member. Is that really matter? We all new member. Why can't we get warming welcome instead of getting kicked out for no reason? the method of joining the group is still very blurry for me.

Can someone help me here? i have no mood to contact the moderator anymore regarding this. can i get some advice for this Yahoo Groups thing? based on your experience, or should i move to another groups now? i really appretiate good advice. thanks

The questionaire for new members is there for a couple of reasons - to make sure you aren't a spammer, and so others (or at least the moderator) can get to know you.

It does look like a very active Group.  So if that's what you want, it may be worth filling out the questionaire; you might get a warm welcome once you do so.

It doesn't look like introducing yourself first is required, but I can't be sure of that.  If you do introduce yourself firrst, you might want to include why you joined the Group, or what games you're currently into, or something like that to show a tie-in to the Group's theme.  After you post a message, you may get replies to it from other members; so be prepared for anything along those lines, from a welcome to the replier's connection to any game you might've mentioned.  If you do get one or more replies, you have the option of continuing the conversation by replying to their reply.

Ultimately, the decision rests with you - if you still aren't comfortable with questionaires, you may want to find another Group.  Though keep in mind that another Group might be less active or have some off-category posts.
