Yahoo Groups: clear new message?

In yahoo groups how do you clear the new messages counter? I've read all the new posting in my group but everytime I go back it still says I have X new messages but I've already read/viewed them.

that is default, you cant change what it says, and has nothing to do with what you've already read. it has to do with the overall group activity.
